We need to break down our silos to survive in the world of software-defined vehicles

We build bridges by developing a common language. Now let's get a little more specific: what are Types and what are Type Configurations?

A type is like a blueprint or a construction plan for a building: the knowledge about the architecture of the building, the specifications for how the building should be constructed, etc. A type is the basis for all other elements from the TPLE data model - the TPLE language. - A type is the basis for all other elements of the TPLE data model - the TPLE language. A type can stand for a system in general, but also for a hardware or software component.

A type configuration is a concrete instance of the type, as in this example: the blueprint of Cologne Cathedral is the type, and the actual building of Cologne Cathedral is an instance of the blueprint, so the real Cologne Cathedral is the type configuration of the blueprint.

Different variants of the instantiation of the blueprint are also further type configurations: as in the example here, the different models of Cologne Cathedral are also type configurations of the underlying blueprint of Cologne Cathedral - this blueprint is the type of Cologne Cathedral.

We build bridges by developing a common language.
What examples of types and configurations can you think of?
